Working together, we can ensure students are supported and have the tools necessary to become lifelong successful learners.
Student Success
Providing a high-quality education that prepares students for their future is the foundational mission of public education. Ensuring students are prepared for a successful future begins with Pre-K readiness and extends to college and career pathways that prepare high school students for success. We must set high standards and expectations for all students by providing rigorous instruction, frequent monitoring of student progress, and targeted intervention and support where necessary. Increasing enrichment activities that extend students’ learning and exposure to career options will ensure a successful future for the students we serve.
Community & Family Partnerships
Building strong community and family partnerships with school districts is essential for creating a supportive and enriching educational environment. We must view our family and community leaders as precious commodities and afford opportunities for them to provide input, feedback, and suggestions on district policies, programs, and initiatives. By implementing a district community advisory council, increasing family trainings, and actively participating in community-friendly events, we can establish meaningful partnerships with family and community leaders that enhance student success.
Financial Stewardship
Financial stewardship and effective financial management are critical for ensuring the long-term sustainability and success of school districts. Through strategic planning, efficient allocation of resources, regular internal review of spending, and collaborating with stakeholders to establish sound decision making, we can meet the critical demands of school finance and ensure expenditures do not compromise the quality of education students receive.
Collaboration & Communication
A high-quality education is a collaborative effort between the district office, school sites, and staff. To ensure our success, we should foster a culture of communication and collaboration and provide opportunities for sharing ideas, resources, and best practices. Reinstating district grade-level/department curricular planning meetings for instructional staff and implementing a district advisory council with representatives from all departments will allow for diverse ideas, identification of needs and opportunities, and the opportunity to co-develop solutions for everyday issues we face in our district.
